Zinfandel blush is often associated with California viticulture because of its popularity in this US state. Until 1998, it was the most planted variety in California and today it still occupies more than 10% of Californian vineyards. The bouquet of Zinfandel is dominated by red berries and touches of blackberry, anise and black pepper, which justifies its arrangement with strawberry aromas.
