About the Certification
What are the required percentages of Quebec ingredients for your Aliments du Québec and Aliments préparés au Québec certifications?
Aliments du Québec
All products sourced entirely in Quebec or those composed of a minimum of 85% Quebec-sourced ingredients, provided that the product’s main ingredients come from Quebec. All processing and packaging activities must be carried out in Quebec.
Aliments Préparés au Québec
All products processed and packaged entirely in the province of Quebec. When the product’s main ingredients are readily available in Quebec, these should be used.
Do I need to certify each of my products or is one product enough?
Aliments du Québec certifications are awarded to each product on an individual basis. You should therefore submit a request for each of the products for which you would like to receive a certification.
Is my company Aliments du Québec certified?
In fact, no, since our certifications make reference to the origin of the ingredients in a specific product. It’s therefore not the company itself that receives the certification, but rather, the individual product.
If a company wishes to use the Aliments du Québec logo in connection with its products or alongside the name of the company, it should use the “Member Company” logo or mention that “This company offers products certified by Aliments du Québec.” Approval by Aliments du Québec is also required in order to do so.
How may I use your logos on my products?
From the moment that your product has achieved certification, you may proudly show the logo on your packaging or product label. If you need a copy of our logos (in JPEG, PNG, AI, EPS format), simply let us know.
Note that once the graphic layout of your packaging/label has been completed, it must be submitted to Aliments du Québec for approval. To learn more about the required graphics standards, refer to our “Conditions of Use for Brand and Graphic Standards” document.
Is it possible to put a self-adhesive sticker with your logo on our product’s packaging?
Yes, of course! Several sizes of Aliments du Québec and Aliments préparés au Québec stickers are available for bringing your products to market. Stickers can be easily requested using your dashboard and will be delivered to you within five to ten business days. Note that the shipping and handling charges will appear directly on your bill..
IMPORTANT: You may not print your own stickers bearing only our logos. These must be purchased from us, as that allows us to maintain control over the quality and uniformity of stickers in circulation.
Will my products be listed in Aliments du Québec’s web directory?
Your product will be automatically listed in our online directory, as long as you have not unchecked this box on your product’s application form.
Note that if you have indicated that your product is for private labelling, the system automatically unchecks this option and the product will not be listed in the directory.
What to do if my product is certified as “Organic?”
You can declare that your product has been certified as organic and make a request to obtain either the Aliments du Québec-Bio or Aliments préparés au Québec-Bio variation. However, this is not mandatory and you may instead apply for either of our root certifications.
