GoGo Quinoa, a unique local company
"To contribute to the well being of all consumers, by offering nutritious and flavourful products, which are ethically and responsibly sourced" this is the mission that guides GoGo Quinoa.
Three historical facts about this local business:
1. GoGo Celebrates Its 15th Birthday
For almost 15 years, GoGo Quinoa has been working every day to democratize quinoa in Quebec. The love story between quinoa and founder of GoGo Quinoa, Martin Bilodeau, was born during a trip around the world. Having arrived in Bolivia, the future entrepreneur fell in love with this mysterious little grain. After several years working in finance, Bilodeau felt the call of entrepreneurship. At that time, quinoa wasn’t certified fair trade in North America. He therefore took the opportunity to obtain the very first fair trade certification in Canada. It was the beginning of an adventure that would lead to the creation of GoGo Quinoa!
2. First Canadian Company to Perform Quinoa Quality Control in a Local Environment
In entrepreneurial lingo, "local environment" highlights businesses based locally - which means Laval, Quebec in this context. Who would have thought that Montreal’s North Shore would become the cradle of Quebec quinoa? Their 45,000-square-foot facility ensures all stages of the transformation process, thanks to their state-of-the-art installations. Today, GoGo Quinoa processes and imports over 60 organic, plant-based, allergen-free products made from quinoa and other superfoods and legumes (chia, amaranth, buckwheat, lentils, chickpeas).
3. Fair Trade, Nutritious and Organic Quinoa Directly From Bolivia
From day one, GoGo Quinoa has made it its mission to only offer top-quality grains that respect both nature and health. In order to ensure a commercial partnership based on trust and local practices, Bilodeau and his family settled in La Paz, Bolivia for seven months. This immersion subsequently impacted all his efforts as a successful businessman. Today, the relationship with Bolivian farmers is one of his greatest pride. Thanks to sustainable practices, these skilled workers provide exceptional products - something to please everyone!
