Our mission

Founded in 1996 by the members of the Québec Agri-Food Sector, Aliments du Québec is a non-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote the agri-food industry through the Aliments du Québec and Aliments préparés au Québec brands and their respective derivatives.

Trustworthy brands

The Aliments du Québec and Aliments préparés au Québec brands are granted to duly certified products meeting specific criterias. These certifications are also governed by a comprehensive compliance and verification program.

A framework approach

To establish the origin of the products, Aliments du Québec follows a meticulous verification process where information on ingredients, origin and availability in Quebec are corroborated by reliable sources and experts (federations, associations, etc.).

This process was established on the basis of CFIA federal laws and provincial laws from The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Certified products meet the highest quality standards in the world.

Our certifications

Aliments du Québec

Can be considered an Aliments du Québec, any product entirely made from ingredients sourced in Québec or composed of a minimum of 85 % of main ingredients from Québec. All the processing and packaging activities must be done in Québec.

Aliments préparés au Québec

Can be considered an Aliments préparés au Québec, any product processed and packaged entirely in Québec. Thus, when the main ingredients are available in Québec in sufficient quantities, they must be used.

Two landmarks in one

Since March 2013, there are two organic derivatives of the Aliments du Québec and Aliments préparés au Québec brands. Created in partnership with the Filière biologique du Québec the Conseil des appellations réservées et des termes valorisants (CARTV), these derivatives associate the production method with the origin certification, in order to offer a complete information for Québec consumers.

The products that have obtained these certifications meet both the sourcing criteria of Aliments du Québec and Aliments préparés au Québec, as well as the criteria imposed and validated by the CARTV concerning the organic certification. A double guarantee!
