Chatting with Natacha Lagarde: a Committed and Inspiring Maple Syrup Producer

Nine years ago, Natasha and her partner took on a bold challenge by becoming owners of a 4500-taps maple grove right next to the Appalachians.

As a total outsider from the agriculture business, she naively asked herself, “maple sugar time... When is it again?" while signing documents. The young entrepreneur had a lot to learn!

Here are the details of our inspiring encounter with Natacha Lagarde, co-owner of Sucreries DL who now really earns a living with this thing called maple sugar time.

A Sugar Producer Committed to Her Community

Nothing is impossible for Natacha and her family, who have created a wonderful company with the passion and drive to promote maple products across Canada and around the world.

"The Chaudière-Appalaches region is blessed with many quality sugar groves. We want to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy it and have access to maple products."

Rather than offering a regular sugar shack service, Sucreries DL relies on distribution in many points of sale and online with affordable delivery.

Sharing the Daily Life of Local Farmers

This happy discovery of the agricultural world inspired Natacha to spread the word.  Her first desire to bring people together at the table has therefore evolved into an even greater mission: highlighting the work of Quebec farmers.

A new project was then born called Agrimom : a collaborative blog that gives farmers the chance to express themselves and share many highlights of their daily lives. "This project aims to bring producers together and give Quebecers access to their reality. We have a high rate of readers who are not at all from the agriworld!"

Young and Old : Everybody Comes Together!

The two children of this sweet couple are also actively involved in sugar grove activities. While the youngest go out into the woods on a mountain bike to tap maples, the elder takes care of the company’s social media. It's a real family affair!

With a thriving sugar bush, tasty maple products, a blog that brings it all together, and now a comedic web series, Natacha and her family are certainly not short of ideas to put the spotlight on local agribusiness activities!
