6 excellent products for grilling
The BBQ grill is magic for two reasons: 1. Everything tastes better and 2. It saves a lot of dishes! Whether it’s sunny or not outside, enjoy summer time with good grills. And who says grill, says master of the grill! As you know every master has its specialty: burger, steak, kebab, etc. Without forgetting your classics, why not bring some varieties to your menu?
1. Corn
Is there anything better than a corn roast with the whole family? To avoid the large cauldron of boiling water, choose a new cooking method for your corn by using the BBQ. First and foremost, you must put your unpeeled corn in water for 15 to 30 minutes. Keeping the outer casing of the corn, place them directly on the grill for about ten minutes. Stay close, because you have to turn them every 2 minutes to ensure a uniform cooking. So, when will you host a corn roast?
2. Cheese
You first have to make an important choice: the type of cheese. Otherwise you might end up with a grilled-grill... which is certainly not the expected result. So, to obtain beautiful grilled slices, opt for a salty firm cheese, much like haloum cheese. Before placing the slices directly on the grill, be sure to add some oil to the cheese. When cooking, close the lid for about 2 to 3 minutes. When your cheese is golden, remove it from the heatand serve with olive oil and some fresh herbs from the garden. A simple aperitif that will satisfy everybody!
3. Watermelon
Watermelon? Seriously? First hand, the watermelon does not seem the best fruit on the barbecue. Well think again! The grilled melon reserves many surprises... Cut it in broad slices, remove its skin, and then add olive oil on both sides. Place them directly on the grill for about 5 minutes on each side to obtain a good caramelization. Feel free to add a few drops of balsamic vinegar, feta and red onion. Tempting, isn’t it?
4. Pork Nagano
How can we talk about BBQ without suggesting a good piece of meat? Pork Nagano offers several cuts of pork that will certainly satisfy the biggest meat lovers . In chops, filet or simply chopped in pieces, Pork Nagano is perfectly accompanied by a spoonful of onion confit and a piece of old Quebec cheddar. For the minimalists, simply grill hotel-cut pork with a hint of oil and spices for grilling. In either case, you can enjoy this quality meat at its best!
5. Fish and seafood
Fish and seefood lovers are well advised that trout, sturgeon, shrimp and lobster are a must for the barbecue. To maximize the taste, do not hesitate to use marinades: oil, garlic, some herbs and voilà!
6. Cake
Obviously, we kept the best for last. Yes, the cake! Cut thick slices of white cake like pound cake or angel food cake. Then, heat them on the barbecue for a few minutes or until the cake is hot and lightly toasted. For a successful dessert, serve it with local berries like strawberries, raspberries and blueberries; they will soon be ready!! For those with a sweeter tooth, add a little bit of chocolate!
