The Strength Of Our Workers
The people here are working hard and building businesses that strengthen the province's economy and create jobs in every region. Agri-food companies are developing the market and fighting foreign competitors to offer high-quality products, which are grown or processed here, at very affordable prices. Throughout the pitfalls and successes, it is Quebec as a whole that radiates through the entrepreneurship, innovation and know-how of these companies.
Produits Grisspasta

Today, the company serves demanding customers in the food processing, retail and foodservice industry. Cuisine J.-F. Poirier
Cuisine J.-F. Poirier, from Saint-Jean-de-Matha in Lanaudière, produces homemade flavored mayonnaise with no preservatives, additives or thickening agents. Even before the appearance of ready-to-eat meals in grocery store, Cuisine Poirier offered pies, tarts, spaghetti sauces, condiments, etc, in order to facilitate the life of modern families, without setting aside quality. Cuisine Poirier made its mark in 1984 with more than 200 products. A catering service was also set up by the Poirier family before it began marketing mayonnaise. Now, Cuisine J.-F. Poirier’s mayonnaises are found in more than 350 points of sale. The company now even produces the mayonnaises Sushi à la maison in collaboration with Geneviève Everell as well as the different sauces that are found in the chain of restaurants Frite Alors!
Asperges Primera
Descendants of tobacco-producing families, cousins Mario Rondeau and Stéphane Asselin joined forces in 2004 to create the company Productions Cousins Fruitiers inc. in order to exploit the fertile lands of Lanaudière. The two businessmen first embarked on the cultivation of cantaloupe and broccoli before investing in the cultivation of physalis (cape gooseberry). This decision was profitable enough for the company to take a major turn in the spring of 2006 by purchasing an already established asparagus production, as well as the PRIMERA trademark of Produits Harnois inc. The quality of Primera asparagus is now maintained by an attentive and respectful staff for an impeccable quality every time you buy fresh, delicious asparagus.
Les Serres Royales
Les Serres Royales were founded in 1995 by Gilles, Pascal, Stéphan and Cécile Lemieux, in Saint-Jérôme, in the Lower Laurentians. Their first pink tomato plants were planted in April 1996. Les Serres Royales now produce red, yellow and orange tomato, cocktail tomato, cherry tomato and grape tomato on over 125,000 plants in 40 twinned greenhouses.
Les Cuisines Gaspésiennes
The adventure of the founder of the company, Tony Carpinteri, began in Matane in 1972 with the acquisition of the restaurant Italia Pizzeria. Processing of pork products began in 1981 with three employees in a 1,200-square-foot plant. Today, Les Cuisines Gaspésiennes transforms 12 million pounds of meat annually and employs more than 100 workers. Over the years, the company has become a leading North American producer. The Gaspésien products, the company's flagship brand, offer the flavors of nature, inspired and elaborated from father to son in Matane.
