The government of Quebec reaffirms its support for Aliments du Québec
Longueuil, Quebec, April 29, 2026 – Aliments du Québec welcomes with enthusiasm the Government of Quebec’s renewed support, granting $12.5 million in funding to continue showcasing Quebec’s biofood products and strengthening their presence across distribution networks. The announcement was made today by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), Mr. Donald Martel, on the sidelines of the SIAL International Food Exhibition.
This renewed support ensures the continuation of Aliments du Québec’s initiatives aimed at supporting Quebec producers, processors and fishers, promoting the verified display of local origin at points of sale, and encouraging consumers to choose local products.
For Aliments du Québec, this announcement will help further simplify the local purchasing decision while strengthening consumer trust in Quebec products. By making it easier to identify Quebec foods through the Aliments du Québec and Aliments préparés au Québec certification marks, as well as their organic variants, the organization helps strengthen the connection between the biofood industry and consumers. These marks enable consumers to easily identify local products and make informed choices when prioritizing local purchasing.
This funding will also help promote the expertise of restaurateurs and institutions that prioritize local sourcing through the Aliments du Québec au menu program.
